Held at the beginning of the year to welcome students back to campus and announce scholarship winners from an art contest held during the previous semester, this event generally encompasses a theme of "growth" and "movement". I used familiar department imagery (the monarch butterfly) to symbolize metamorphosis both figuratively and literally, on a backdrop of the building in which the department office is located. To promote the event ahead of time, I created and printed letter-sheet flyers, half-letter handouts, social media post graphics, and TV-screen graphics for cross-campus "digiboard" advertising. As this event also recognizes scholarship recipients, I was tasked with overseeing production of framed prints of the artwork to be given to the winners, as well as copies to be displayed in the student lounge. Postcards featuring the winning artwork were also created. Due to inclement weather, this event's original date was postponed, so last-minute additions to the previously created promotional graphics were needed to make potential attendees aware of the updated event date.
