Between my past and current employment in university settings, I worked for Justuno, a company that uses designs to increase customer engagement on their company websites through subscription bonuses and discount offers, also known as pop-up ads.
Everyone has an opinion on pop-up ads (mostly negative). I get it. They interrupt the user's browsing experience and add more spam to the email inbox. At the same time, they can be very effective for promoting a positive user experience when they are done right. Navigating the customer's relationship with the business and their attitude to pop-up ad engagement was the primary challenge that I knew I would address with every design, every day, when I accepted the job. For each client, I begin with questioning how I can create something that is creative, engaging, and help cultivate brand loyalty.
A few of my favorite client examples are below. I invite you to explore their case study pages and look past the surface of these designs to examine the more nuanced application of design skills and techniques, as well as other unique challenges and conflict-resolution strategies that may have come up.
