My first large project I worked on with the department was a set of graphics created for "Merry Merienda", a study-break kind of event featuring tamales and other goodies, hosted before winter break each year. This design acknowledges both the Latinx cultural environment (cactus and bright colors) and thematic embellishments through the snow that is generally not seen in the south. To promote the event ahead of time, I created and printed letter-sheet flyers, half-letter handouts, social media post graphics, and TV-screen graphics for cross-campus "digiboard" advertising. During the event, I created food-handling signs and provided themed coloring pages to accompany other craft activities we offered to students as a means of relaxing the pressure of finals and the upcoming holiday break.
